Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone is doing well.  We are all doing great.  I have really been enjoying this beautiful Fall.  The leaves were so pretty here in Middle TN.  We had a great turnout at the Fall Block Party that our church held on Oct. 31st.  We had over 300 people come through.  We are coming into a very busy part of the year.  I look forward to all of the festivities. This is one of my favorite times of the year.  A time set aside to remember the greatest gift ever given, Jesus.

Soon Jonathan and I will be celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary!!!  We are going to Gatlinburg to celebrate.  We are taking the girls with us this year.  They are so excited.  Caitlin is the only one that has ever been to Gatlinburg and she barely remembers it. It is beautiful this time of year.

Things are going well at the church.  Jonathan is currently preaching through the book of Revelation on Sunday mornings.  I am teaching a Woman's Discipleship Training class on Sunday nights. I am really enjoying it.  Right now we are going through the Fruit of the Spirit. Last week we learned about Patience.  I think we all need to learn more about that subject.  I'm also working with the children on this year's Christmas Play and participating in this year's Cantata.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I am thankful for each and everyone of you and all of the support you have given us over the years!

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. We sure did. My mom came up for a visit. We made fried apple pies from the last of the sun dried apples that my grandmother and great grandmother dried years ago. They were very good. It's always neat doing things like that. It helps Caitlin and Kristen remember when we did the same thing with MawMaw before she died. We took lots of pictures. We also went to the creek and had a great time there also. I didn't do much because I broke my foot a little over two weeks ago. I turned my ankle and fell going down my back steps on the way to a funeral. I am currently wearing a walking boot. I have another drs appointment on the 16th. I hope everything is healing well. It still aches and swells some but it is getting better and better. Hopefully, it will heal properly and I won't have to have a pin put in it. The girls have been very helpful. Caitlin and Kristen have cooked several meals for me. Sarah even cooked Spaghetti Sunday after church. It was her first time cooking. She made the sauce. She cooked the ground beef and everything. I was so proud and surprised that she stuck with it and finished it.

The girls began another school year on August 10th. They are all doing well. Caitlin is in 10th, Kristen is in 6th and Sarah is in 2nd. Sarah, like Caitlin did, has struggled some with reading but she is rapidly improving every day. Caitlin is taking some exciting subjects this year including Home Econimics and Spanish. She is wanting to begin Photography and Art and Design but we haven't decided if we want to to those this year or next. At her current rate she will only have to take one subject Senior Year to have enough credits to graduate so she is a little ahead.

I can't believe that summer is already almost over. We went back "home" to the Outer Banks for our vacation this year. We really enjoyed seeing everyone again. We had a great time. We did some things that we never got to do while we lived there. We camped on the beach one night that was alot of fun. We visited several lighthouses, rode the ferry two times and even had an Outer Banks style cook-out!

Kristen and Sarah joined the CIA this summer. (Christians in Action) They travelled around to local churches singing. They really enjoyed it though they missed being at our church. I think they will do it again next year.

Caitlin and Kristen both went to camp this summer. Sarah isn't quite old enough to go yet. They both had a really good time. Next year Kristen will be old enough to go to the youth camp. She is really excited about that.

Fall activities are fixing to kick into high gear. We are having a tailgate party this Friday before the football game. FCA groups from both schools are going to work together preparing food. We also have several activities coming up at church. We are putting together a talent show which will be held sometime in October. We also have a block party on Halloween. Not to mention, it's almost time to start practicing for this year's Christmas Play and Christmas Concert! :) The end of the year will be here before we know it. This year has went by really fast. It has been a good year.

Stay tuned for the next undate! Maybe it won't be so long between updates next time!

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted anything. We have been really busy these past few months. We have had a few things happen in the past few months. Let's see, I guess the first thing that happened is that my baby turned 15! She got her learner's permit and has been out to drive several times. She is doing well, so far. The day that she got her permit we pulled over at McEwen's city limits and let her drive home through our little city. I sat in front with her. She was so nervous that her legs were shaking but we made it home in one piece. Jonathan has went out with her a few times on the back roads. She drove home last night in the dark. She did really good.

Jonathan finally got the truck that he's always wanted. It's a GMC Canyon. We have had only one vehicle for several years now so it's nice to have a second vehicle. He told Caitlin that he was only buying it so that if she wrecks the van we'll have another vehicle to get around in but he was just kidding. She drove the truck last night for the first time on the way home from our ladies Bible study. She liked driving it better than the van.

Things are going well at the church. We are going through the Fireproof Your Marriage Bible Study on Sunday nights. I think everyone is really enjoying it. We began it by watching the Fireproof movie on Feb. 15th. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house when it was over. The ladies have began a new Bible study. We are doing Esther by Beth Moore. Last night was our first meeting. It looks like it is going to be really good. Caitlin is doing this one with me. It is her first one. I hope she enjoys it. I have started a program called TeamKid on Sunday nights. It is going well. It is for grades 1-6. The kids really like it. It's similar to Awana. We have really enjoyed being a part of it. It has a big emphasis on missions. The kids love watching the missions videos. We are hoping to "adopt" a missionary family for a year. I would like the kids fill like they are really involved in missions. I think by having contact with a missionary family it will help them to better understand what mission work is all about. The youth group is going on a youth conference in Nashville this weekend. Please pray that many will come to know the Lord before they leave. Caitlin is really excited about going.

Well, I think that is all for now. I'll try not to wait as long next time to write a post. I have some pics that I need to put on here sometime soon.

Until next time,
Beth

Happy New Year!

Hello everyone! I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. I wish all of you the best during this year. I know we have so many plans for this year. ( I just hope we can get at least half of them accomplished.)

We went home for a short visit with the family during the week of Christmas. The first night we were there Jonathan woke up with a stomach virus. What a way to start the week! Caitlin felt a little sick Tuesday morning but everyone else remained well. I quarantined both of them upstairs in hopes that no one else would get sick and it worked. Thankfully, no one was sick on Christmas. It isn't fun to be sick during the holidays. We really enjoyed spending time with our family. Some of them we only see during the holidays.

Grandmother Witt will be 90 years old next week. I hope we will be able to go and visit her. She is a wonderful lady who loves God and her family very much. This world has been a nicer place with Grandmother Witt in it. She has always been an encouragement to us. I hope she will be with us for many more years.

Caitlin will be 15 in a few weeks. I can't believe it! She wants to go take the test for her learner's permit the day of her birthday. She is excited. We only have the van right now so I am kind of worried about her learning to drive. I wish we had a smaller car for her to practice in. I'm sure she will do fine but whoever rides with her might need to wrap themselves in bubble wrap and pillows in case of impact. Just kidding. I'm glad it will be a while before Kristen and Sarah reach driving age. They are all growing up so fast. She is doing well in school this year. I think if she keeps it up she will finish out the year with all A's and B's. She still loves to read and loves art. She is always making something or drawing something. She has really gotten into doing collages. She is really good at it. I might try to get her into some stained glass projects and see how she likes that. We are so proud of her. She loves the Lord and has been studying her Bible. She has given some really good counsel to some of her friends over the last few months. We were really impressed when she told us the advice that she had given. She actually does listen in church!

Kristen's arm has healed nicely though she still needs to gain some strength in it. She is now 10 years old. She has a boyfriend at church. He asked her to be his girlfriend just before Christmas. They have liked each other for a long time. He gave her a necklace and a pair of earrings for Christmas. They are so funny. They sit together in Sunday School, most of the time, then they talk on the way to the sanctuary for church then they go their separate ways. He is a really sweet boy. We really like him. Kristen is wanting to learn how to draw. She received some drawing supplies for Christmas. I can't wait to see what she draws. We are so proud of her.

Sarah is doing well. She's as funny as ever. She's our little comedian. She loves to sing and dance and have a good time. She'll do anything for a laugh. Last night we watched Kung Fu Panda and after it was over she thought she'd try a little Kung Fu on Jonathan. By bedtime Kristen, Sarah and Jonathan were chasing each other around the house pretending to fight. Sarah did some "special moves" that got everyone tickled. Sarah really wanted an easy bake oven for Christmas. I think all of our girls have wanted one at one time or another but they never got one. Well, Sarah did. She hasn't made anything yet. Maybe we'll do that together sometime today. We are so proud of her. I hope she doesn't grow up too fast. She seems to be growing up faster than the other two. Maybe it's because she has two older sisters.

Kristen and Sarah have decided to become members of the CIA. (Christians in Action) It is a group of kids that practice a couple of times during the week during the summer and then in August they go to different churches in the area and sing. They also have several outings together during the summer. I think the girls will really enjoy it. They both love to sing. They are in the children's choir at church and have both had solos. They both have really good voices. I wish we had a youth choir but I really doubt any of our youth would sing in it. Caitlin doesn't like to be in front of crowds and refuses to sing in the choir. Maybe one day she will get over that.

Jonathan is doing well. He has been playing the Wii a lot. We all have. It's addictive! We got it for the girls for Christmas but Jonathan ended up letting them open it around Thanksgiving. They have really enjoyed it. He got a Star Wars game for his birthday and we got Mario Cart for Christmas. Everyone has been having a lot of fun playing it. We can actually work up a sweat playing some of the games. My mama got him a zapper gun with some games and some commentaries by John Phillips. He loves those commentaries and they come in handy when he is preparing his sermons. Please remember to pray for us during this new year. pray that many will come to know the Lord this year and that we won't stand in His way. We are here to be servants to the Lord Jesus not the other way around. Please pray for Jonathan. As a pastor, he is sometimes under a lot of stress. Being a pastor isn't always easy or fun. It's a lot of hard work. It takes a lot of patience and love for those around you.

I am doing well. I had a great Christmas. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful family. Though my life isn't always pie in the sky, I plan on living my life to the fullest. I have wonderful girls and a wonderful husband and more than anything I have a wonderful Lord and Savior. He has helped me through many situations and I'm sure He will help me through many more. I want to thank each of you for praying for us as we have been on this journey. I have a feeling, though we have been gone for several years, that our journey has only begun.

I hope you have a wonderful year. I pray that God will use you more and that you will be blessed this year than last year. I pray that you will allow God to use you and that you will rely on Him more this year than any other. That is my prayer for you.
